Director, Ekso Labs
Dr. Kurt Amundson is the Director of Ekso Labs, the Research and Development arm of Ekso Bionics™, and has been with the company since 2007. He played a pivotal role in the technical development of the Ekso GT, Ekso Bionics’ medical device as well as the development of the HULC exoskeleton, the exoskeleton for military applications. Prior to Ekso Bionics, he worked on the early stages of exoskeleton technology as a graduate student at UC Berkeley’s Human Engineering Laboratory. Kurt holds four US patents with another 16 pending, all of which are related to exoskeletons. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and his master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley
