Bin He

In his Keynote presentations, Dr. Bin He, Director, Institute for Engineering in Medicine and Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Biomedical Engineering, University of Minnesota will discuss the principles and basics behind mind-controlled devices – brain-computer interface (BCI). He will focus on motor-imagery based BCI which translates subjects’ intention to action, and discuss the neuroscience basis, engineering technologies, and experimental designs to establish such capability, ranging from controlling of a computer cursor, a virtual helicopter, a drone, and a robotic arm. Recent experimental results will be discussed, demonstrating noninvasive mind-control of a robotic arm. Challenges in the mind-control technology will be discussed.
